Sophie Casier
Brussel-based designer

Sophie Casier is a designer driven by a deep fascination for shapes, colours, materials, and light. She studied applied arts, furniture restoration, and marbling techniques at the Institut des Arts et Métiers in Brussels.

Her work is guided by a search for balance and beauty, with light at the heart of her creations. Casier works with diverse materials such as wood, brass, steel, bronze, aluminium, ceramics, pigments, oil paint, and pastels. Yet light holds a special place. It softens, soothes, and brings harmony.

From her home studio in Brussels, she creates pieces infused with subtle light play. She also plans a winter studio on the Mediterranean coast, where natural light further inspires her. Her design philosophy is rooted in capturing the nuances of light to evoke emotion and create tranquil, comforting spaces.

Cycle designed by Sophie Casier for pomax

Cycle is a tribute to the earth, a tableware and decoration collection inspired by the peony and the quiet, slow rhythms of nature, from seed to bloom. Nature speaks without words, revealing itself through its transformations. Deep beneath the surface, the earth rests, only to awaken again: seeds sprout, sprouts grow, everything unfolds in its own time. Each piece in the collection captures a moment in that natural cycle, and invites stillness.
